The internet was taken by storm when noted Bollywood singer Krishnakumar Kunnath passed away on May 21, 2022. People knew him by his stage name KK. The singer fell ill while performing at the Nazrul Mancha, an auditorium situated in Kolkata. He was then rushed to the hospital after returning to the hotel post his performance.

A video of the late B-town singer rushing out of the concert surrounded by guards and fans has now gone viral on social media. Sources from the said hospital confirmed that KK was brought there at 10.30 pm. Reportedly, the singer also had some injuries after falling down and was declared dead on arriving at the hospital.

Fans from around the world and renowned celebrities mourned the loss of the great singing sensation. KK worked in the hotel industry

The late singer had once revealed that he worked in the hotel industry before moving to the city of dreams, Mumbai, in 1994. He said in one of his interviews that he owes his wife Jyoti for supporting him in pursuing his musical dreams.

He sang around 3500 jingles

In another interview, KK stated that it was Hariharan who spotted him when he was singing in Delhi and then encouraged him to move to Mumbai. The late singer sang around 3500 jingles before getting his break.

KK and his debut Hindi song

The late singer’s debut song in Bollywood was Chod Aaye Hum Woh Galiyan from the film Maachis. The co-singers of the song were Hariharan, Vinod Sehgal, and Suresh Wadkar. Vishal Bhardwaj composed the song that went to become a huge hit later.

Who inspired the singer?

KK revealed during one of his interviews that Kishore Kumar was among the earliest influences in his life.

KK was not a trained singer

People may find it hard to believe that KK was not a trained classical singer. The late singer revealed that he did go to music school, but it was not something that he was cut out for because of which his father did not push him further.

KK and Arijit Singh

Did you know that KK was among the jury members of the popular reality show Fame Gurukul? It was in this show which Arijit Singh shot to fame. However, the late singer did not appear in any other reality show as a judge.

KK had sung songs not only in Hindi but also in other languages like Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati, Malayalam, and Assamese.

The singer’s untimely death

According to various reports, it is suspected that late Bollywood singer KK left for his heavenly abode due to a heart attack. He reportedly fell ill after returning to his hostel after the concert in Kolkata. For the unversed, the singer performed at the concert for almost an hour.
